Ascent through the Covão d'Ametade glacial valley towards the plateau, offering one of Serra da Estrela's most beautiful environments. The side slopes accumulate snow and may present slab risk after strong winds, so progression should stay on the valley floor. Starting point with parking next to the birch forest.
