SchweizMobil local route 931, the classic 5-lake hike on the Pizol in the canton of St. Gallen, from the Pizolhütte (2,227 m) to the Gaffia mountain station. Official federal Wanderland geometry: 10.2 km measured (operator publishes 10 km rounded), about 3 h 50 min, +631 m / -987 m, medium technique on mountain hiking trails with a difficult physical rating. The route passes five alpine lakes (Wangsersee, Wildsee, Schottensee, Schwarzsee, Baschalvasee) below the Pizol glacier and the Sardona UNESCO World Heritage site. Seasonal note (official): alpine tour, snow possible up to early July, good mountain equipment required; the Pizol cable cars operate seasonally.
