About the trail
SchweizMobil local route 195, a circular hike from the Moosfluh mountain station above Riederalp via Chatzulecher and Alte Stafel. Official federal Wanderland geometry: 6.6 km measured (operator publishes 7 km rounded), about 2 h 35 min, +491 m / -491 m, medium technique on mountain hiking trails, between about 1,950 m and 2,330 m. The Great Aletsch Glacier is in view almost throughout, with the closest approach to the ice after Chatzulecher. The climb back through the Aletsch Forest is demanding. Stay on marked paths near the glacier edge and check the Moosfluh cable car timetable and current trail conditions before setting off.
