About the trail
A gentle out-and-back from the top station of the First gondola to the mirror-like Bachalpsee lake, whose surface reflects the Schreckhorn and Finsteraarhorn on calm mornings. The wide, well-graded path is suitable for families and casual walkers, with wildflower meadows in early summer and a lakeside bench at the far end that is one of the most photographed spots in the Bernese Oberland. Combine with the First Cliff Walk at the start. Best in the early morning to catch reflections and avoid crowds. Passable from mid-June to late October.
