About the trail
A UNESCO-listed turquoise lake ringed by the near-vertical walls of the Blüemlisalp massif. The Rundweg circles above and around the lake, offering constantly changing perspectives of glaciers cascading toward the water. From the top of the Kandersteg gondola, follow signs to Heuberg for the high traverse before dropping to the lakeshore. The high section involves one steep rocky passage secured with chains and short cables — sturdy shoes essential. Rowing boats can be hired at the lake. Passable from June to October.
