About the trail
The path leading to the Matterhorn base camp. From the small Schwarzsee lake, the trail ascends over moraines and rocky slabs to the Hörnli Hut, at 3,260m, the starting point for the Matterhorn's normal route. Each bend brings the Matterhorn pyramid closer and more imposing.
