About the trail

Walk the complete official loop from Malvaglia through Ludiano, the chestnut woods and the abandoned settlement of Selvapiana. Continue to Navone and past the stone houses of Scarp towards Semione, then visit the Serravalle castle ruins before returning to Malvaglia. The federal route includes its full shared outward-and-return section, not a shortened castle-only stroll. Official reference: 6 km, +480/−480 m, 2.50 hours. Complete federal track: 6.34 km, accumulated +478/−478 m. Official classification: easy hiking trail; medium fitness. Easy is the official technical hiking-trail rating, not a statement of effortless walking: the route still accumulates about 480 metres of climbing. Use suitable footwear on woodland slopes and take care on wet stone and near the castle ruins. Historic buildings are not a guarantee of unrestricted interior access.
