About the trail
An easy vineyard walk across the UNESCO World Heritage terraces of Lavaux, from the lakeside wine-growing village of St-Saphorin to medieval Lutry above Lausanne. The signposted path (SwitzerlandMobility local route 113) zigzags between stone-walled terraces high above Lake Geneva, passing Rivaz and its Vinorama wine centre, Glérolle Castle and countless welcoming village cellars. Trains run all day from every village on the route, so the walk can be shortened at will. Measured on the official federal track: 11.5 km, about 3 h 15 min, +439 m / -413 m. The route is a marked hiking trail (T1) and technically straightforward. The site is sun-exposed: take a hat and sun cream. From early September the grape harvest brings more traffic onto the paths. Season, access and any notices should be checked on the official SwitzerlandMobility page before setting out; no live status is shown here.
