About the trail
Take the complete Montsevelier circuit through Welschgätterli and Le Champre. The route climbs through forest to the rocky pass, follows wooded ridges and meadows with views across Val Terbi, and descends towards Mervelier before returning across fields. The exact federal loop is retained with no alternative descent added. Official reference: 11 km, +700/−700 m, 3.83 hours. Complete federal track: 11.23 km, accumulated +689/−689 m. Official classification: medium hiking trail; medium fitness. SchweizMobil explicitly warns of steep passages between Montsevelier and Welschgätterli and on the descent after Le Champre. The narrative also identifies narrow and sometimes slippery woodland paths. Wear appropriate footwear and avoid wet or icy steep passages. Technical difficulty and fitness are both medium on the official scales; no SAC grade or fixed seasonal opening dates are asserted. Summer hiking entry: snow-free conditions are required. No independently established fixed opening months or SAC T-grade are asserted. Federal closure/diversion layer checked on 24 October 2026: no reported closure or diversion intersects this exact route; absence of a notice is not an assurance that the route is open. Recheck official notices, local conditions and weather before departure. Official original name: Chemin du Val Terbi. Source: https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-454.
