SchweizMobil local route 587, the Wildheupfad on Mount Rophaien above Flüelen, from Eggberge (about 1,447 m) to Oberaxen (about 996 m). Official federal Wanderland geometry: 7.5 km measured (operator publishes 7 km rounded), about 2 h 35 min, +321 m / -772 m, medium technique on mountain hiking trails. Fifteen panels explain the tradition of wild haymaking on steep pastures, with views over the valley floor and Lake Uri. Safety: the trail is narrow and steep on wild-haying slopes; places with a risk of falling are secured, but good surefootedness is required (official SwitzerlandMobility warning).
